Keeping tabs on day 13 of Winnipeg Jets training camp

Almost two weeks into camp here’s the latest on what’s happening in Winnipeg.

Yesterday was a day for special teams work. Today they split into two groups which is made up of the main guys and a smaller satellite group which is set to skate at 11:30 AM.

Missing from group 1:

G: Thomas Milic
D: Bauer, Kuzmin & Lundmark
F: Chibrikov, AJF, Toninato & Shaw.

Lines and D Pairs:

Connor-Scheifele-Vilardi
Ehlers-Namestnikov-Perfetti
Niederreiter-Lambert-Iafallo
JAD-Lowry-Gustafsson
Barron-Kupari-Appleton

Morrissey-DeMelo
Samberg-Pionk
Salomonsson-Miller
Fleury-Coghlan

Disaster avoided:

After being down for a moment or two, Nikolaj Ehlers got back up and skated off on his own. He was skating fine with his teammates shortly thereafter. After skate head coach Scott Arniel indicated that Ehlers “He seemed better. He just got a little bit spooked on it. He kind of hit skates with Scheif and I think he just kind of tweaked himself a bit. But I think he’s fine.”

Heinola watch:

Jets defenceman Ville Heinola had to have surgery to fix his ankle. The last few days he’s been seen around the rink working on his stick handling and today he was even on the ice (in flip flops).
