As expected Jets defenceman Josh Morrissey is gonna have a hearing for his cross-check to the neck of Eric Staal that occurred in the game last night in Minnesota which Winnipeg won 2-0.
In case you missed it here is a video of the incident:

According to Darren Dreger of TSN the hearing is at 3:30 pm ET.
Not surprisingly the topic came up today during coach Maurice’s media availability. This is what he had to say about it:
Coach Maurice on if he was surprised that Josh Morrissey got a hearing and would he be surprised if he was suspended.
Update: The Department of Player Safety has ruled that the hit merited a one game suspension which means that Morrissey will miss game 5. That is gonna be tough for the Jets D depth with the status of Enstrom and Myers still in doubt and Kulikov not really sounding like an option. Might Sami Niku, who played his first NHL game this season, end up playing his first NHL playoff game before his first AHL game (which was supposed to be on Saturday)? Perhaps we will find out tomorrow at practice or Friday at morning skate.
Here is the explanation video from the Department of Player Safety:
