Josh Morrissey left game between Canada and Czechia (no update post-game)

There was a ton of excitement as the Men’s Olympic Hockey got underway today in Italy. All four Jets players who are over there are playing today including defenceman Josh Morrissey who was on the ice for Canada’s game against Czechia. He was paired alongside Blues defenceman Colton Parayko who he played with during the 4 Nations Tournament last year.

Worth noting he played a couple of shifts early in the 2nd period before leaving for the locker room. During the 2nd intermission Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported that Morrissey would not return.

About the only thing that looked like it could have led to something was this collision he had late in the 1st period as his leg kicked out after colliding with a Czechia player. He looked a bit ginger as he skated up ice.

Canada coach Jon Cooper running the media gauntlet with Kyle Bukauskas after the win said he didn’t have an update on Morrissey after he left the game and did not return.

We will have to wait and see what the update is on Friday.
