Jets reset in style as Hellebuyck shines in return and Niederreiter hits 1,000 in 5–1 victory over Capitals

As complete a victory from the Jets as has been seen this year as they ended their slide with an impressive 5-1 victory over the Capitals backstopped by Connor Hellebuyck and more secondary scoring.

Notable:

Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck was activated off IR and made his return three weeks after he had a procedure on his knee. Before the game began the Jets honoured Nino Niederreiter getting to game 1000.

In his previous five seasons, Logan Stanley had five goals in 202 games (scoring, one goal and each of those seasons). He matched that number of five goals in game number 31 of this season by opening the scoring in this game with a nifty goal. And he’s now tied with Josh Morrissey for team lead in goal scoring by D.

Speaking of 44 he got the primary assist on the first goal which was his 400th point in the NHL.
