He played just 1:22 of the first period on Saturday evening here in Winnipeg before he was hooked by Tampa’s Nikita Kucherov, which we were told on Monday caused some swelling which they needed to go down before they could properly assess the situation.

Today in Pittsburgh the Jets bench boss revealed to the media that Enstrom had surgery yesterday.  From the Jets twitter account: “Toby Enstrom had surgery yesterday on an existing lower body injury. His timeline for recovery is 2-3 weeks.”

Expect an "official" announcement tonight during the broadcast but the new play by play voice of the Jets will be Dan Robertson.

Puck drop from Edmonton will be in one hour.

We had @ICdave down at the IcePlex covering day 4 of Jets training camp.

He got some injury updates from head coach Rick Bowness on Brad Lambert, Wyatt Bongiovanni, and Morgan Barron.

Still a few hours to go before the Jets pre-season game gets under in Edmonton which gives you lots of time to check out yesterday’s Illegal Curve Hockey Show.
