The Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party is making a return for the 2018-19 season.  Last year while there was a plan in place in advance of the event it was rather organic which led to huge crowds and an incredible atmosphere.  That changed when they instituted a ticket policy which saw the crowd size decease significantly.

This season they will have a ticket policy once again with the proceeds going to the United Way.  Will that cause an issue again?  Hopefully the atmosphere we saw during the 1st round of the 2017-18 playoffs will be back for this upcoming spring.  Should the event be held at the Forks, which would perhaps kill some of the atmosphere around Bell MTS Place, but would allow the organic nature of the event to survive.  Guess we will see how the 1st round goes.

From the Economic Development Winnipeg FAQ:

Where can I purchase tickets for the Street Parties?

Tickets will be available soon through Ticketmaster. Tickets are limited to four (4) per account. The best way of being assured a spot at the Street Party is to purchase tickets in advance. Subject to Street Party capacity, any tickets not sold in advance will be available at the Bell MTS Place Box Office (Portage and Donald), however, there is no guarantee that tickets will be available at the event.

For fans who don’t have online access, the Bell MTS Place Box Office (Portage and Donald) will be open for ticket sales. Box office tickets will be limited to four (4) per person.

Children aged five and under do not need a ticket to enter the Street Parties. As well, 500 tickets from each game will be distributed by United Way Winnipeg to those who could not otherwise afford them.

If I have a ticket to the game, can I still get into the Street Parties?

Yes. If you have a ticket to watch the game in Bell MTS Place, a ticket to access the Street Party will be automatically loaded into your account at around noon on gameday. It is recommended that both your game and Street Party ticket are loaded to your phone’s wallet prior to arriving at the event.

Do I need a ticket to enter the Family Zone?

Yes. The primary entrance to the Family Zone is at St. Mary Avenue near Smith Street; however, the Family Zone is also accessible via the Smith Street sidewalk from within the main street party footprint. If the size and capacity of the Street Parties increase, an additional entrance/exit for the Family Zone will be via Donald and Smith.

Children aged five and under do not need a ticket to enter the Street Parties.

How much does it cost to enter?

Tickets are $5 each, with 100% of the proceeds being administered through United Way of Winnipeg. These funds will be invested into our city.
