Pierre McGuire, on Mitch Melnick’s show this afternoon, says if the Canadiens
have not signed Mats Sundin by July 1, he’s going to the Rangers.

Pierre McGuire is about as much of an inside source as there is in NHL circles. If he believes this to be the case, then it almost certainly is. If the Rangers were to get Sundin, and re-sign Jaromir Jagr, they could very well leap to the top of the favorites to win the Eastern Conference next season.
