Hockey Hits: Off to the Iowa State Fair

As you have likely noticed IC is undergoing some changes,  and we appreciate you bearing with us as they are completed.  I’m in transition from Michigan back to Manitoba (with a quick pit stop in Iowa – Go Hawkeyes) so I will illustrate all the changes in a later post.   Thanks very much.

And now some news and notes from around the blogs:

  • Matchsticks & Gasoline:  Makes a case for blocking shots.  Interesting points.
  • Stanley Cup of Chowder:  Will Bruins fans know about Phil Kessel’s future in Boston by Opening Night?  If I was betting, I’d guess no.  But I also didn’t expect to see Brett Favre as a Minnesota Viking. today.
  • The Fifth Feather:  News & Notes from Team USA practice.  No word if Chelios is still auditioning for a job or not.
  • Flamesnation:  Saddledome swan song.  Having been to the saddledome for Game 6 of the 2004 Stanley Cup Final versus Tampa (I still say Gelinas scored in the 3rd), I can honestly say that my career wasn’t ended after being there.  (to be candid, at the time I didn’t have a career).
  • Puck Daddy:  Debating Marleau’s ‘C’ change, future of Sharks’ captaincy.  I agree that this is the make it or break it year for San Jose.
  • Mother Pucker:  Jersey database.  How can you not get excited seeing an old Jets or Whalers jersey?
  • T.O. Sports:  Waking up with the Rogers Cup.  What does this have to do with hockey?  Absolutely nothing.  But with all the pictutres of Maria Sharapova how can you not enjoy?
