Winnipeg Jets lose Chris Thorburn in NHL Expansion Draft (also make trade)

The Vegas Golden Knights selected pending UFA F Chris Thorburn from the Winnipeg Jets’ roster of unprotected players.

As part of the agreement that saw Vegas select Chris Thorburn, the Winnipeg Jets swap 2017 1st round picks with Vegas, via Columbus, and move from picking 13th overall in the 1st round of the 2017 NHL Draft to picking 24th in the first round. Additionally, Winnipeg sends Vegas a 2019, 3rd round pick.

To sum up:

Vegas selects Chris Thorburn, & receive the Jets’ 2017 1st round selection (13th overall) & a 2019 3rd round pick

Jets “protect” Tobias Enstrom & Marko Dano & receive the Blue Jackets 2017 1st round selection (24th overall).
