– The Wild are on a two game winning streak, most recently defeating the Dallas Stars 2-1 yesterday afternoon.

– Minnesota defensemen Jonas Brodin (illness) and Marco Scandella (illness) did not play for the Wild on Saturday against Dallas. There was some speculation that the two players might have the mumps but Wild Coach Mike Yeo would not confirm or deny. According to Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Brodin has been placed on Injured Reserve and will not play tonight.

– Niklas Backstrom is expected to get the start in net for the Wild today. Backstrom has started four games for the Wild this season. Backstrom has a record of  2-2-0 with a Goals Against Average of 2.33 and a Save Percentage of .897.

– Blake Wheeler has three goals in the last two games.

– According to Michael Russo, Zach Parise (concussion) will return to the line-up this afternoon. Parise has missed the last five games.

– According to Brian Munz of TSN 1290 Radio, Jets defenseman Grant Clitsome has the flu and will not play this afternoon. Adam Pardy replaces Clitsome in the line-up.

– The Jets have activated forward Anthony Peluso off Injured Reserve. Peluso has no points in three games this year.
