The Jets are in Minnesota to take on the Wild tonight in the second game of a back-to-back for Winnipeg. With the Jets playing and winning 4-3 last night in overtime in Chicago they won’t have a morning skate. While coach Maurice wasn’t prepared to confirm Eric Comrie will get the start tonight it seems likely the Jets prospect will play in his fifth NHL game and first of the 2018-19 season.
Morning Skate Notes:
While the main group of Jets skaters aren’t skating the team did have a skate this AM according to Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun who indicated that “G Eric Comrie, D Josh Morrissey (upper body), D Sami Niku, D Joe Morrow, D Bogdan Kiselevich, F Matt Hendricks and F Par Lindholm. Laurent Brossoit (lower body)” took part.
Jets projected lineup:
Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler
Little-Hayes-Laine
Ehlers-Lowry-Tanev
Perreault-Copp-Roslovic
Beaulieu Trouba
Chiarot Byfuglien
Kulikov Myers
Comrie
Hellebuyck
Audio:
Coach Maurice: Lineup tonight? Why did tonight make sense for Comrie? On the opportunity for Comrie. Was there any concern playing Byfuglien back-to-back? Has he been able to pin down why the Wild have given the Jets trouble this season? Looking back at what the 4th line did last night. Will he move Byfuglien back to the 1st power play unit? On Byfuglien dropping the gloves.
