Whether it was must-win or can’t lose the Jets played a complete 60-minute contest and defeat the Predators 2-0 to secure a critical two points. Winnipeg up to 91 points. Nikolaj Ehlers went beast mode.

Notable:

It was an even opening period as both teams felt the other out trying to take advantage of a miscue by their opponent.

The 2nd period was an absolute clinic by the Jets who did absolutely everything including scoring one goal that counted and one that did not.

Mark Scheifele scored his 40th goal of the season. First time in his career he gets to 40.

The post and crossbar were dented three times by Nikolaj Ehlers who was ripping the puck this evening.

An phenomenally deceptive move by Nikolaj Ehlers eventually allowed him to set up Neal Pionk to give the Jets some insurance early in the 3rd period. That was his 10th goal of the year.

Connor Hellebuyck picked up his 32nd career shutout.
