Game 62: Jets 3 Senators 2 post-game report

Post-game from the Jets dressing rooms as well as from Coach Maurice.

Quick Game Note:

Mark Scheifele and Patrik Laine both had two assists in a solid opening period for Winnipeg.  The second assist for Scheifele meant he hit the 60 point plateau for the second straight season (25 goals and 35 assists in his 59th game) and slipped into the top five in the NHL for points.  Last year he had 61 points (29 goals and 32 assists) in 71 games.  Patrik Laine is up to 52 points (28 goals and 24 assists) in 54 games as he continues to extend his rookie points lead over Auston Matthews and Mitchell Marker who both have 48 points.   Leafs play the Hurricanes tonight so Matthews will have an opportunity to get some points tonight before the Jets and Leafs play on Tuesday night.  That game should be a doozy.

The Jets had a 3-1 lead but this was narrowed to 3-2 and with 3.5 seconds to go the Senators thought they had tied the game but video review proved inconclusive and it was ruled no goal.  Jets win their second straight game and are 3-0-1 in last four contests.
