Game 61: Winnipeg Jets vs Philadelphia Flyers pre-game report

A look at the projected lineups and pre-game interviews.

All good things must come to an end which is what happened to the Jets impressive 11-game win streak which was ended at the hands of the lowly Predators in Nashville on Thursday night. Going into the game they were 1-4 in the second game of a back-to-back so not a huge surprise that they ended up 1-5 although this was despite another solid effort from Eric Comrie who is 3-1-0 in his last four games.

Today they are back in Winnipeg for one game before they head back out east. Very unusual scheduling this season but clearly sitting in top spot in the entire NHL it hasn’t impacted the NHL club of Winnipeg who sit 1st overall in the entire NHL. The only lineup question mark surrounds Morgan Barron who, prior to the two game road trip, had been listed as a possibility for either of the two away contests but didn’t dress in Ottawa or Nashville. He was skating last week in a regular jersey but we will have to wait and see if he’s ready to go or if perhaps the team wants him to get a full practice in before returning to the lineup.

The Flyers come into the game with an overtime loss to their state rival Pittsburgh and are 4-4-2 in their last 10 games as they do battle with a half dozen other clubs for the final wild card spots in the Eastern Conference. They currently sit four points back of both Detroit and Columbus. They haven’t been great on the road going 11-13-7.
