Game 49: Winnipeg Jets vs St. Louis Blues pre-game report

A look at the projected lineups and pre-game interviews.

The Jets left Chicago last night with a 2-0 loss to the Hawks which they could ill afford to lose. While the welcome home from the fans and organization to former captain Jonathan Toews was unbelievable the NHL club of Winnipeg was in dire need of points.

Will Isaak Phillips play his second game in a Jets uniform if Elias Salomonsson is still sick? Will prospect Danny Zhilkin draw back in to give them speed/energy back into the lineup?

The Blues come to Winnipeg as the lowest scoring team in the NHL and also one of the most porous defensively giving up the fourth most goals in the league.  Not a surprise that their special teams are nothing to write home about with the 26th ranked power play and 28th ranked penalty kill.

Skate news:

Odds:

Both teams arrive near the bottom of the table, but the margins still tilt slightly toward Winnipeg at home. St. Louis has struggled to generate offense while conceding too much at the other end, and the Jets — despite their fragility — tend to keep games within reach. It sets up as a matchup where small edges and late execution could quietly decide it. For the latest Winnipeg Jets hockey odds, visit NHL betting site Betway.
