Despite the absence of Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler the Jets take the home opener by a final score of 5-1. Great efforts from Dubois, Hellebuyck, Copp, Ehlers, Connor, Schmidt and more.

Notable:

Believe this is the first Winnipeg Jets home opener without either Blake Wheeler or Mark Scheifele as they participated in the ten previous ones.

Evgeny Svechnikov and Pierre-Luc Dubois appear to be putting together that Cape Breton Screaming Eagles chemistry.

Pierre-Luc Dubois bounce back season continues. He had 8G in 41 games with Winnipeg last season. He’s up to 3G four games.

Evgeny Svechnikov picks up his first point as a member of the Winnipeg Jets. He really does seem like found money.

Kyle Connor with two more goals which ties him for most in the NHL with five on the season.

With his two goals tonight Kyle Connor moves into a tie for 8th overall in franchise scoring with 136 goals. He is now tied with Nikolaj Ehlers. Next up for the duo is Andrew Ladd who sits in 7th spot with 139 goals.
