Game 38: Penguins 3 Jets 2 in SO post-game recap

The Jets played a solid 40 minutes but a miscue in the third gave the rolling Penguins all they needed to force extra time which ended in a shootout. The home side took it with their one goal for the 3-2 shootout victory as Pittsburgh extends their winning streak to five games and this four-game road trip for Winnipeg ends 0-2-2.

Notable:

We learned during the game courtesy of Dennis Beyak on the broadcast that Dylan DeMelo wasn’t playing due to a lower-body injury and Logan Stanley was out due to an upper-body injury.

In just his second game back Blake Wheeler converted a backhand for his second goal of the season.

Kyle Connor extended his team lead for goals scored as he put home number 22 this afternoon.
