Game 15: Jets 4 Golden Knights 3 in OT post-game recap

Post-game from the Jets dressing room as well as from Coach Maurice.

An improbable game as the Jets took a one goal lead on Mathieu Pereault’s game opening goal but then the Golden Knights scored three times in under four minutes.  There were fights and good chances but the middle frame would solve nothing.  Mathieu Perreault would get his second of the game which came on the power play to bring the Jets within one.  Three minute later Winnipeg would tie it up on a controversial goal.  Kyle Connor “beat out” an icing and then fed Mark Scheifele who tied it up.  The Jets controlled OT which ended with Patrik Laine dropping the puck to Kyle Connor who scored five-hole to win it.

Jets improve to 8-7-0 this season.  They’ve won three of their last four games.

For those who would like to take a deeper dive into the advanced stats here are the results from the game via Natural Stat Trick.

Coach Maurice:  On the comeback of his team.  How much better was his team tonight as opposed to last night?  On what Mathieu Perreault could do well in the PP1 role.  On the 3rd period icing.  Did he see the replay?  What role did Adam Lowry’s fight have on the game?  Status of Tucker Poolman.  On the discussion with the officials.  Putting together an identity.  On having Laine on the second power play unit.  Play of Laurent Brossoit.
