The Jets played a nice road game leaving Arizona with two points in the standings bank. The recent call ups from the Moose continue to play a role as Andrew Copp’s second of the season kicked things off for Winnipeg. Mark Scheifele added an assist on the first Winnipeg goal to add to his league leading points total (9G & 10A). Captain Blake Wheeler broke a 11 game goalless streak when he broke a 1-1 tie in the 2nd getting his fourth of the season. In the dying minutes of the 3rd period Patrik Laine was forechecking when Oliver Ekman-Larsson inadvisibly tried to pass the puck up the middle of the ice from behind his net. Puck hit Laine’s stick went to Ehlers (4th) who made no mistake about it giving the Jets a 3-1 lead. They held on for a 3-2 win courtesy of another good effort by goalie Connor Hellebuyck who made 21 of 23 saves as he started his fourth game in a row.
