Game 1: Winnipeg Jets vs Boston Bruins pre-game report

A look at the projected lineups and pre-game interviews.

It’s finally here. Game 1 of 84 as the Jets kick off what they hope will be a season of redemption with a game against the Bruins. Seems odd that they will open the season facing three Eastern Conference teams, but that’s the way the schedule maker picked it out of the hat.

Boston comes to town with a win already under its belt after taking care of business in its home opener a few days ago. The Jets will look to get their own season off to a winning start while trying to hand the Bruins their first loss.

Based on how the Jets have skated over the last few practices, it sure looks like we will see two NHL debuts tonight, with 18-year-old rookie Viggo Björck and fifth-year pro Tyrel Bauer both expected to make their first appearances. Two very different paths to this moment, but you can imagine the excitement will be much the same for both as they take the ice for their first regular season NHL games.

Odds:

Winnipeg will look to settle in quickly against a Boston team that holds the edge in this matchup. Managing the puck, limiting turnovers and making the Bruins work for their chances could go a long way toward helping the Jets find their rhythm and dictate the pace on home ice.  For the latest Winnipeg Jets hockey odds, visit NHL betting site Betway.
