Forsberg still having foot issues

From Rick Sadowski of the Rocky Mountain News:

But it’d sure be nice if Leopold and Clark can stay healthy, and there’s still a possibility that Peter Forsberg — if he can ever get his chronic foot problems resolved — will be back as well.

Forsberg’s agent, Don Baizley, told me today that Forsberg is still trying to get the problem fixed, but that it hasn’t happened just yet.

It’s also possible, of course, that the foot will continue to be troublesome and that we’ve seen the last of Foppa in the NHL.

I am probably Peter Forsberg’s biggest fan, but I have a hard time believing that the future hall-of-famer is going to play next season.  Even if I am wrong, I would be shocked if he played over 20 games.  That is unfortunate for hockey fans, as even when he was playing injured at the end of last season, he was an effective player (probably still one of the top 5 set up men in all of hockey), and a joy to watch.

Back in business on Tuesday as the Jets welcome former bench boss Paul Maurice and the Panthers to town.

The Moose have another day of practice.
