Former Winnipeg Jets captain Andrew Ladd retires

After 1001 regular season games and another 65 in the playoffs BC product Andrew Ladd is calling it a career as he announced his retirement on Instagram.

He played 348 games wearing a Jets uniform during his five seasons in Winnipeg after the franchise moved from Atlanta.  He was the first captain for the 2.0 Jets.

The organization would deal him during the 2015-16 season to his former club the Chicago Blackhawks with the fans giving him a warm welcome in his return to Manitoba later during that season. He went on to play for the Islanders for four seasons as well as in the AHL for Bridgeport. His last season was the 2021-22 campaign with the Coyotes where he played 51 contests including number 1000.
