End of Manitoba Moose 2022-23 Season media availability with Simon Lundmark

Hear from one of the Jets top right side D prospects.

It was a second full season in Manitoba for Jets 2019 2nd rounder Simon Lundmark from Stockholm, Sweden. The 22 year old right shot defenceman put up similar numbers with three goals and 14 assists for 17 points in 64 games as he had during his rookie campaign (last year he had 14 points in 57 games). He also benefited from playing three playoff games with the Moose this year.

He reflected on the growth in his game this season, the connectivity of the Moose team, having a number of Swedish guys in the organization, what he learned about the city, some of the adjustments to living in Canada, the difficulty of the playoff exit, what he gained from playoffs and what he needs to work on to get his game to next level.

Some notable quotes:

On his growth in his second year with Moose:

“For sure a good season for me. Developed a lot. Defensively. Offensively….Felt more comfortable with everything hockey wise, outside hockey, language. For sure a good season.”

On Moose connectivity:

“I feel like this group is such a good group. Everyone enjoys spending time with each other. Everyone get along. Everyone just has a lot of fun together. Such a good group and I’m happy to have been a part of it.”

On all the Swedes in the organization:

“Sometimes you miss Sweden, of course, and that gives a little bit of it. So it’s nice”

On getting his game to next level:

“Speed. First strides. More powerful in the strides. I know I can contribute more in offensive parts of the game so I just need to work on that a bit. But mostly power and get up to that top speed fast.”
