Forward Nicholas Jones just completed his third season with the Moose which was his fourth full season in the AHL after the Alberta product signed with Hartford out of college (UND) back in 2018-19. Last year he was part of the hard-working Lunch Pail Line alongside childhood friend/teammate Evan Polei and Moose alternate captain Cole Maier. This season there were a few more linemates as his production was cut in half from the 34 points 12G 22A) in 60 games he had last season to the 17 points (3G 14A) he had this year in 70 games for Manitoba.
The frustration was evident for him during our end of season chat which came just a few days after the Moose were eliminated in game 5 by the Admirals. He spoke about the takeaway from his game this season, being part of a close knit team which helps when dealing with frustration, how tough it was to lose these playoffs, what makes Jimmy Oligny a good captain and more.
