Early Evening Delight: Rocket’s Red Glare

  • Scott Burnside looks at some teams who still have some work (and ‘splainin;) to do.
  • Is Pierre McGuire the type of guy the Panthers need as General Manager? I think Randy Sexton is doing just fine. He has made some astute moves that will improve the Panthers club, and I think Pierre has been out of the game for too long.
  • The Dallas Stars’ blog has been updated with Razor’s thoughts on the Stars moves over the past few weeks. Nice to see Mr. Reaugh back in action.
  • Coming Down the Pipe looks at who has been invited to Edmonton’s development camp. Look for Cameron Abney to stir the pot a little.
  • I met some of these guys last weekend in Montreal. Lots of good reading here for fans of the Islanders and of hockey in general. They were also witness to Georges Laraque’s wheeling and dealing.
  • The Fighting Sioux have picked up USHL journeyman Ryan Hill, who skated last winter with Waterloo and Sioux Falls. An actual defensive defensive that will help the Sioux. Nothing flashy, but not very fun to play against.
  • THE BIG NEWS of the day, Rick Nash has signed an 8 year extension with the Blue Jackets. Scott Howson is quietly doing a very good job in Columbus.
  • Last but not least, did the Blackhawks blunder their qualifying offers? Yikes, lets hope not.
