Dylan Samberg wearing a regular jersey at Winnipeg Jets morning skate in Vancouver

Number 54 has traded in his yellow, non-contact uniform for a regular one.

And there was much rejoicing in Jetsland with the news, via radio analyst Mitchell Clinton, that injured defenceman Dylan Samberg has traded in his yellow non-contact jersey for a regular uniform.

The Jets have been without Samberg’s services since late September, after he broke his wrist in an exhibition game which his head coach labelled a “freak accident.” He was expected to miss 6–8 weeks. This is the start of his sixth week.

This past weekend wee saw Cole Perfetti ditch the non-contact jersey, and then two days later he was in the lineup.

Samberg was not on with a D pair expected to play tonight. We shall have to wait and see if he’s on a similar trajectory as Perfetti which would mean he could be making his regular season debut on Tuesday in Seattle, provided he feels good after today’s skate.
