It was a slow start for Winnipeg but they eventually got going in the 2nd and 3rd periods to build up a lead. However, they weren’t able to cruise to victory in regulation as the Kraken fought back from a two goal 3rd period deficit but Winnipeg picked up their seventh straight win of the season as they maintain their undefeated record at a perfect 7-0-0 with their 4-3 OT win over Seattle.

Notable:
Adam Lowry tied Chris Thorburn for games played as he got into number 709 of his career. That’s 5th on the combined Atlanta & Winnipeg list. He’s third on just the Jets 2.0 games played list.
The audio was a half second (or more) ahead of the video in the 1st period which was appropriate as Winnipeg was also out of synch for the opening frame. They were lucky to be only down 1-0 and being outshot 12-7.
They must have sampled some smelling salts during the first intermission because they came out with a lot more effort in the middle frame including two very good chances early for Neal Pionk and Cole Perfetti but instead it was an ugly one that bounced in off Nino Niederreiter‘s chest that tied the game.
After it appeared the Kraken took the lead 2-1 in the 2nd the Jets challenged for goalie interference and were successful.
With 4:55 left in the second period Kyle Connor did some good work to keep the puck in the Seattle end and then Mark Scheifele fired it over to Gabriel Vilardi who picked a good time to score his first goal of the season to make it a 2-1 lead for Winnipeg.
In the final frame the Jets struck first as the top power play unit had a number of chances using the majority of the time on the first power play of the game for Winnipeg. While it didn’t leave much time for PP2 they were able to score (after the man advantage expired) as Cole Perfetti found Nino Niederreiter for his second of the game to make it a 3-1 game.
Neal Pionk with his seventh assist in game number seven on that third goal. Just like everyone predicted….. He’s got 1G 7A in 7 games.
It was looking like the Jets would be able to cruise to victory but the Kraken had other ideas as they scored twice in the 3rd to tie the game and send it to OT.
But they remain undefeated as Nikolaj Ehlers scored in OT on a delayed penalty call to give Winnipeg the win and they improve 7-0-0. That was his 35th game-winning goal.
