Depth players in Winnipeg Jets organization hit the ice

Skating under the watchful eye of the Moose coaching staff.

The Moose season ended on Saturday night with a 1-0 win over the Stars. They returned to the city on Sunday and then the team took Monday off before hosting exit interviews with players yesterday and today.

A handful of players are still skating and while they hadn’t been anything officially calling them the “Jets practice squad” they are the depth players who are on NHL deals.

Forwards: Axel Jonsson-Fjallby, Mason Shaw and Parker Ford.
Defence: Elias Salomonsson, Dylan Coghlan and Isaak Phillips.
Goalie: Alex Worthington

Ford is slowly getting back to full health and there’s also the possibility that Jets prospect Brad Lambert joins this group as he rehabs an ankle sprain he suffered back on April 12th.

We got some clarity on this group from head coach Scott Arniel later in the day. He indicated they will remain in Winnipeg but will remain part of the mix. He indicated they will use them in some of the practices as a “scout team”.

“They’re going to be a part of it. ‘Cause if we’re planning on making a long run here, depth it has already been important and it will always continue to be important”.

Here was that clip from his media availability this afternoon:
