Dallas Drake, a member of the Red Wings’ Stanley Cup championship team, announced his retirement from the NHL in a conference call with reporters Tuesday.
Drake, 39, had a goal and three assists in 22 playoff games in 2008. That followed a regular season in which he had six points in 65 games.

Nice for Drake to finally hoist the Stanley Cup prior to hanging up the skates. He was a hard-working, character forward for many years and was always a crowd favorite. I’m sure he’ll end up coaching sooner rather than later.
