Connor Hellebuyck heading back to the Manitoba Moose

With the return to health of Ondrej Pavelec the Jets will reassign rookie goalie Connor Hellebuck to the AHL to continue his development with the Manitoba Moose.  Following practice today it was announced that Ondrej Pavelec is coming off IR.

On Tuesday I wrote about what the Jets might do with a trio of goalies and this scenario allows them to not expose any player to waivers due to Hellebuyck’s exemption.

Since his call up back in November he assumed the starters role and played 26 games with a 13-11-1 record in his rookie campaign.  His save % was .918 and his GAA was 2.34.
