Will there be any hits like this tonight?

Wings/Ducks Recap:

  • Hiller continues to be all 3 stars for Anaheim.  If not for him this series would have been over long ago.  None more important with less than 5 seconds to go in the 3rd on a shot by Hossa.  38 saves total.
  • Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf both stepped up for the Ducks tonight. (Both has 1 G and 1 A tonight).
  • Ericsson cost the Wings the 1st goal.  Not sure why he decided not to take Getzlaf but had he taken the man the Ducks are not scoring that goal.
  • I’m not sure why Samuelsson is playing with Datsyuk and Zetterberg on the power play.  He was awful tonight.
  • Franzen scored a nice PP goal (his 8th of the playoffs) in the 3rd period to bring the Wings to within a goal.
  • The reffing seemed horribly inconsistent.
  • The Ducks are 6-0 all time at the Honda Center in Game 6’s after tonight.

Here are some end of game shenanigans;

Ongoing Phoenix Saga Daily Tidbit:

  • NHL objects to order requesting details of Reinsdorf offer.

The National Hockey League on Tuesday filed an objection with a U.S. bankruptcy court after being ordered to turn over documentation relating to its purported discussions with Jerry Reinsdorf about his interest in buying the Phoenix Coyotes.

In court documents, the NHL argued that premature disclosure of any expressions of interest in the team could be harmful and said the motion should be denied.

“Pending the determination of who is in rightful control of the debtors, there is no justification for the efforts of the debtors’ former principal, [majority team owner] Jerry Moyes, to harass the league with such discovery that may prove wholly unnecessary,” the NHL wrote.

“Premature disclosure of confidential discussions will jeopardize value for the league and all of its member teams, including the Phoenix Coyotes, as well as the team’s creditors.”
