Coach Maurice provides an update on Tobias Enstrom status

In the 3rd period of the seventh and final pre-season game last night at the MTS Centre, Tobias Enstrom was hit from behind by the Flames Mikael Backlund.  (You can watch the hit here).

Following the game coach Maurice provided this update on the status of the Jets defenceman:

“As of right now positive.  We will wait to see how he comes back tomorrow, the rehab part of it but it’s positive right now.  You just never like to see that.  There is no place for it.”

And his thoughts on his groups reaction to the hit on Tobias Enstrom:

“Felt it last year coming in, pretty close group of guys.  Every team is going to react, I think, for the most part that way…..I’m happy that Toby is safe and healthy”.

You can hear the entire Coach Maurice post-game presser here.

So be sure to stay tuned to @illegalcurve for any updates on the Jets defenceman.
