Bylsma named Penguins head coach; he’s no longer ‘interim’

From the Pittsburgh Post Gazette:

Dan Bylsma no longer is the Penguins’ interim coach.

He got the job on a permanent basis — as permanent as such a job can be in the NHL, anyway — today.

Bylsma and general manager Ray Shero agreed on a multi-year contract last night, but the precise length and terms were not immediately known, although three-year deals are the norm in the NHL.

This team was in terrible shape when he took over and he led them to an 18-3-4 record in the final 25 games of the season.  They had too much talent to have been floundering the way they were.  Good for the Pens’ for finally removing the Interim title.
