Afternoon Delight

Afternoon Delight: Huckleberry Friend

  • Meet the other John Tavares. If you haven’t already, check out the NHL’s dedicated draft page. Lots of reading there to keep people entertained.
  • The science of the wrist shot. (H/T to Kukla) Pretty deep for a hockey blog, I know.
  • Adam Proteau comments on the selective discipline of the NHL. Consider it a makeup call for the two non-penalty shots.
  • The Ottawa Senators draft preview from Coming Down the Pipe.
  • 10 Observations from Ian Mendes.
  • Puck Daddy comments on the montage CBC aired before Game 1. I really liked it, while AK did not. She may have also called me gay for liking it. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…
  • A couple of links from One Timers and Deflections, including a hockey cartoon and the 3rd jersey concept for the Lightning. I like the jers…I mean sweater.

The Moose head to B.C. today where they will begin four games on the road starting on Friday with the Canucks (of Abbotsford).

Their lineup will be bolstered by the addition of Dominic Toninato who passed through waivers on Wednesday.

The Jets take their act on the road starting with a game tomorrow night in St. Louis against the Blue.

The Moose will be in Abbotsford for a practice on Thursday as they get ready to kick off four away from Manitoba.
