From the Jets we get these details on the uniform:
“The Jets’ uniform draws inspiration from the championship era of the late 1970s and features a crossover V-neck color and vintage-inspired mesh striping. The crest employs traditional chain stitching to lend a distinct authenticity to the throwback uniform. A pant logo highlights the historical Jets ID set, complete with an era-accurate name and number set.”
Jets co-owner Mark Chipman offered up his thoughts on the Heritage Classic uniform “I love em. I think there were lots of different choices but that original jersey that was featured in 72′ I thought was where we needed to go. My personal opinion it was the best.”
Communications Direction for the Jets Scott Brown indicated that the team will wear the jersey on two different occasions during the season in addition to the Heritage Classic game including on January 9th against the Flames and March 19th against the Wild.
