So, I’m back. I’d like to thank the rest of the Illegal Curve contributors for picking up the slack while I was away.
- If you haven’t read about Adam Pardy, George Johnson of the Calgary Herald tells you he’s a pleasant surprise. Give Pardy full credit for some great perseverance.
- The NHL is reviewing Robyn Regehr’s cross-check on Derek Dorsett. He’ll get a game or two maximum.
- George Richards defends hockey in South Florida. The Florida crowds have been embarassing for years. The last time I was in Sunrise, which was about five or six years ago, no one filled the seats then.
- Martin Gerber has been placed on waivers by the Senators. Unfortunate circumstances for a good guy on and off the ice.
- The Greatest Hockey Legends website has a undergone a makeover and has an interesting World Cup possibility. I don’t mind that idea. But at the same time, I would prefer the tournament go back to its best-of-three finals format.
- Sidney Crosby is out of the All-Star game. Sucks for the fans.
- The NHL baseball standings courtesy of Battle of Alberta. Love this feature.
- Daniel Briere will be out of the Flyers lineup for at least a month. This is one of the few teams that can afford to lose an offensive talent like Briere for a prolonged period of time. I mean, they’ve done it already.
See you in the morning for the papers.
