TSN: NHL, NHLPA set to resume CBA negotiations on Tuesday. Let’s hope they decide to meet for a bit longer this week. Neither side is showing the sense of urgency required at this late point in the negotiating period.

The Province: Doan’s agent sets firm deadline. Of course Doan’s agent wants to sign a deal before the current CBA expiration. If any of the numbers ‘out there’ are even close to true, then it is in his client’s best interest to get something signed. While it is clear that he wants to stay in Phoenix, it does not appear likely that potential Coyotes owner Greg Jamison will have the deal wrapped up by then.
The Tennessean: Predators may still have slight edge over Red Wings. Every team yard stick of measurement always seems to be against Detroit, which goes to show you how solid that organization has been over the past two decades.
CSN Washington: Should Ovechkin play in Russia? Would the rest (if there is a lockout) be more beneficial than having Ovi continue to hone his game, albeit in the KHL?
