Note: The Jets held a practice on Wednesday as they looked to reset following their 2-1 loss in St. Louis ahead of a significant test against the Stars in Dallas this evening. The most significant tidbit was that prospect Brayden Yager appears to be ready to make his season debut. Winnipeg will hold an optional morning skate at 11:30 AM CT, so stay tuned for our pre-game report to ensure you’re up to date on the latest. Puck drop is at 7 PM CT.
Note II: After the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Dallas this evening, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we break down and analyze the game. We’ll get things started around 9:40 PM CT.
Note III: The Moose kicked off their six-game road trip with a tough test against a very good Griffins team in Grand Rapids. The home side opened the scoring before Manitoba responded with two straight goals to take the lead. Grand Rapids answered with three unanswered goals of its own before the Moose pulled within one, but that’s as close as they would get in a 4-3 loss. Manitoba falls to 5-2-0 on the season, with both losses coming against the same Griffins team.
Note IV: All of which will give us plenty to discuss throughout the week on the Daily Dose of the Illegal Curve Hockey Show. Join us Monday to Friday at 3 PM CT on the IC YouTube channel and across our other social media platforms as we break down all the latest developments surrounding the Jets and Moose.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Jets looking to ignite offence against Stars. Well the good news is they are trying to ignite their offence against the stingiest team in the NHL. Dallas has only allowed 15 goals in nine games which makes them five better than the next closest team. Doesn’t exactly scream opportunity to score. Also doesn’t help that the only two guys on this team who can seemingly score are Kyle Connor and Cole Perfetti. Rest of the team, not so much.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets hit first patch of early-season turbulence. (Paywall). As with anything, when they were 4-1-1 it wasn’t time to plan the parade and during this 1-3-1 slide it isn’t time to fire everyone into the sun. But they probably do need to pull out of this quagmire before the Heritage Classic weekend and before tomorrow’s Connor Hellebuyck suspension comes to an end.
Daily Faceoff: What will the dynamic be like if Connor Hellebuyck returns to the Jets? I honestly don’t understand why this assertion is being put forth! There is no way the Jets organization is letting Connor Hellebuyck anywhere near their team. Just to qualify the emphatic statement I just made it assumes Hellebuyck does not make a full throated retraction of his trade request (which if he was prepared to do, would already be done). So there is no point in discussing this hypothetical because it ain’t happening.

Sportsnet: How will Hellebuyck situation unfold after Friday? Real Kyper and Bourne hosts Nick Kypreos, Justin Bourne and Sam McKee are joined by Ray Ferraro to chat about Winnipeg Jets netminder Connor Hellebuyck and the situation surrounding his return to the team on Friday.
