The Jets returned to the ice this morning in Winnipeg after taking the last two days to stay off of it. The big question mark for Winnipeg was the status of Josh Morrissey who was listed as day-to-day following his injury in the 1st period of the game against the Avalanche last Wednesday. Can the games missed be limited to this past Friday against the Ducks or might he also not be ready for the game tomorrow night against the Wild.
The only other thing to watch will be Elias Salomonsson who ditched his yellow, non-contact uniform on Friday but since it was a morning skate he didn’t really get a chance to engage in any contact with his teammates. Expect that to ramp up this week.
Pre-skate news:
As per Jets colour analyst Mitchell Clinton there was a Josh Morrissey sighting ahead of practice as he put in some work with Skills coach Matt Larke.
Skate news:
Some changes to the forward lines as per Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press. Nino Niederrieter is back in the lineup after being a healthy scratch and will get the bump up to line two which brings some size to that line. Isak Rosén goes to the third line while Morgan Barron will go to centre on line 4 with Vlad Namestnikov moving to the wing. Which makes Brad Lambert the odd mad out as 13th forward.
Lines & D Pairs:
Connor-Scheifele-Perfetti
Niederrieter-Björck-Vilardi
Rosén-Lowry-Iafallo
Koepke-Barron-Namestnikov
Lambert
Samberg-DeMelo
Ferraro-Pionk
Fleury-Bauer
Salomonsson-St. Ivany
