Note: The Jets welcomed the Avs to town on Wednesday night for their first Central Division clash of the season. The game started out fairly even before the visitors took control but goalie Stuart Skinner was excellent keeping his team in the hockey game. Kyle Connor and the rest of the top line powered the team to their third victory of the season with a 3-2 win to improve to 3-0-1. Of course it wasn’t all good news as they lost Josh Morrissey for most of the game who is out with an upper-body injury.
Note II: Today, the Jets will hit the ice for an optional practice at 12 noon as they get set to continue their homestand with a game against the Ducks on Friday. We shall have to wait and see if there is an update on Josh Morrissey. Stay tuned for the practice Report.
Note III: The team unveiled the new Heritage Classic uniform on Wednesday which is the one they’ll wear for the outdoor game later this month.
Note IV: Today, is a travel day for the Moose who head to Grand Rapids to take on their playoff opponent from last season’s second round. The game against the Griffins on Friday kicks off a two game road trip.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets goaltender quickly taking on folk hero status with hot start. (Paywall). It’s only been two homes games (plus exhibition) and I was already wondering if fans would get tired of chanting “Stuuuuuu” but that’s clearly not the case. The big Albertan is getting lots of love from the Manitoba crowd with his spectacular performances.

Winnipeg Free Press: Scheifele’s scoring ‘drought’ ends with pair of assists in win over Avs. (Paywall). While he was saying all the right things to us in the media I have to think it was bothering him not being able to contribute as he so often does, on the scoresheet. He got that out of the way in a big way on Wednesday night.
