The Jets lost Josh Morrissey for most of the final two periods, but that didn’t slow them down as Kyle Connor scored twice, Cole Perfetti added another and Mark Scheifele chipped in with two assists to lead Winnipeg to a 3-2 win over Colorado. The victory improves the Jets to 3-0-1 on the season.

Notable:
We saw a pretty smart move by Stuart Skinner in the 1st period recognizing that the Avs, who knocked the net off its moorings, couldn’t get possession with it off so he went to the bench for an extra man. That’s using your noggin.
In memory of Logan Stanley the refs gave him the first penalty of the game listing it as going to 64 instead of Dylan Samberg (54).
Lots of Stuuuu chants as Stuart Skinner kept this puck out of the Jets net on the PK.
In the less than ideal category as Josh Morrissey was a bit sore after trying to make this hit and smoking the boards instead. He came out for the first shift of the 2nd but left the game and would not return.
In random jersey of the game at tonight’s contest between the Jets and Avs the winner are these fans: One is wearing (I think) a Knoxville Ice Bears jersey and the other a Fort Wayne Komets uniform.
Stuart Skinner deservedly the recipient of Stuuuuuuuus from Jets fans after these two big stops. They were his 19th and 20th saves of the game while his team had only mustered six shots to that point.
Kyle Connor tied the game shortly thereafter with his fourth goal of the season with a beauty tip.
Slippery play by Viggo Björck who comes this close to his first NHL point after evading the check along the wall.
It took Cole Perfetti 27 games last season to get three goals but he got his third in game four giving Winnipeg an unexpected 2-1 lead late in thd middle frame.
Kyle ‘Frickin’ Connor. He is on some kind of heater giving the Jets a 3-2 lead with 60 seconds to go with his second goal of the game and fifth of the season off a spectacularly devious pass by Mark Scheifele.
Winnipeg held on to beat Colorado 3-2 to improve to 3-0-1 on the season which keeps them atop the Central.
Picking up seven of eight points to start the season was exactly what this team (and specifically GM Kevin Cheveldayoff needed from his group to calm the waters regarding Connor Hellebuyck).
