Catching up with the Manitoba Moose on Day 3 of training camp

The NHL squad of Winnipeg were off today, which meant the AHL club of Manitoba had hockey for all centre largely to themselves. They did not receive any reinforcements from the Jets, meaning camp was mostly made up of a mix of ECHL players, Manitoba Bisons and a few AHL-contracted players.

Post-Skate news:

Later in the afternoon the Jets announced they had assigned eight players to the Moose and released four from their PTOs (all four are on AHL deals with Manitoba) which gave the AHL club a big influx of players. With the 12-player influx from Winnipeg, the Moose also reduced their camp roster by five players: Evan Cormier (G), Dylan Finlay (D), Brandon Funk (F), Teague McAllister (F) and Erik Pastro (F).

Up next:
The Moose head out on the road Thursday as they get set to face the Iowa Wild in St. Paul, Minnesota, on Friday and Saturday afternoon. It will be the first time since 2019 they have played AHL exhibition games, which should help prepare the squad for its season and home opener on October 3.
