TSN’s Darren Dreger joined TSN 1050 this morning and was asked about what he’s hearing regarding the Connor Hellebuyck situation. Will he begin training camp in Winnipeg? How might this play out? Could a trade be coming?
Dave’s Notes:
– Dreger said he is doubtful that 37 starts camp in Winnipeg. Says he is not certain but that there are people around him who do not think he’s coming.
– The “offers were terrible” as per Dreger. Said that there is an expanded list but that a lot of the teams have decent goaltending. Or the ones that see him as an upgrade want him at a discount price (“Bargain basement return”). They can’t do that. Added that Hellebuyck is not waiving to remain in Canada (i.e. Edmonton or Montreal).
