Today’s informal skate had a slightly different, more veteran look than what we saw yesterday, as more players continue to filter into Winnipeg ahead of the start of 2026-27 training camp.
Before the skate got underway, Elias Salomonsson, who remains in a yellow non-contact jersey, was working with skills coach Matt Larke on another ice sheet. The work included more shooting, and Salomonsson looked good as he put some mustard on his shots while continuing to make his way back to full health following shoulder surgery. He eventually skated over to join the main group.
Also working on that ice sheet was forward Walker Duehr, who was with Moose skills coach Dave Cameron as he continues to work toward joining the main group.
Three veterans from last season’s Jets roster were on the ice today after not skating with this group yesterday, including Alex Iafallo, Gabriel Vilardi and Morgan Barron. We also saw new Jets goalie Stuart Skinner for the first time in Winnipeg colours. Winnipegger Isaac Poulter was the other goalie on the ice today.
Four veterans from last season’s Jets roster were absent from the group for a second straight day, including Adam Lowry, Josh Morrissey, Nino Niederreiter and, not surprisingly, Connor Hellebuyck.
There were also fewer prospects on the ice today, as Garrett Brown, Fabian Wagner, Colby Barlow, Jacob Julien and Alfons Freij as well as Lucas Wahlin were not skating with the main group.
