After being drafted by the Jets in 2019 there was a lot of excitement for Ville Heinola who had a goal and four assists in his first 8 games with Winnipeg.

Unfortunately for Heinola he was either blocked from a spot by trades or injuries put him behind the eight ball. In total he played just 58 games in the NHL during six seasons.
As a result of the Jets not getting him into enough games he became a Group 6 UFA and was free to sign with another NHL team. There had been talk last week that the Rangers were interested in signing him but today we learned he has signed a one-year, one-way deal with the Golden Knights.
He’s coming off a very good performance for Finland at the World Championship so couple that with a good summer and he will hopefully get a shot to make his mark in Vegas next season.
