With plenty of goalie talk surrounding Winnipeg these days, the Jets announced this afternoon that they have extended Isaac Poulter to a one-year, two-way deal for the 2026–27 season.

The Winnipegger joined the Jets last July as a free agent and spent most of the 2025–26 season with Norfolk of the ECHL, appearing in 43 games. NHL injuries led to AHL recalls, allowing him to get into three games with Manitoba, where he posted a 2-0-0 record.
Given the expected tandem for the Moose next season remains Jets prospects Thomas Milic and Domenic DiVincentiis, this move simply ensures organizational depth. Of course, with Eric Comrie potentially becoming a free agent on July 1, it’s possible that Winnipeg could consider promoting one of the two prospects, which would give Poulter a clearer path to a larger role in the AHL. I’m not sure they are quite ready to do that yet, so I suspect this is simply about keeping some additional goaltending depth in the system.
