Note: The Jets are done. The Moose are done. We will still try to get you anything relevant to the pro hockey clubs of Manitoba during the next little bit. Of course the big focus is on the 2026 NHL Draft for which the Jets hold the 8th overall selection. We will be spending quite a bit of time learning about the players who could hear their name get called by Winnipeg at the end of June.
Note II: Over at the World Championship Gabriel Vilardi scored one of his characteristic in tight goals as part of Canada’s big win over Denmark.
Note III: As disappointing as Winnipeg’s season was, they turned Logan Stanley, Luke Schenn & Tanner Pearson into Isak Rosén, Jacob Bryson, a 2027 2nd, a 2026 4th & a 2026 7th. Stanley played 8 playoff games, Schenn 2. Neither played Game 7. Pearson didn’t play in post-season for Buffalo.

The Athletic: What would it take for the Blues to trade up in the 2026 NHL Draft? (Paywall). Winnipeg isn’t really the focus for Jeremy in his latest article but they do get mentioned as a team that could be in the mix.

Illegal Curve Hockey Show: Conversation with Jets prospect Brayden Yager. The Saskatoon product had a busy 2025-26 season, playing 68 games for the Manitoba Moose and recording 10 goals and 20 assists. The Saskatoon product also made his NHL debut with the Winnipeg Jets, appearing in three games. He joined us on Saturday to reflect on his first season as a professional hockey player.

Winnipeg Free Press: Niverville Nighthawks defeat Summerside Western Capitals 4-1 to take Centennial Cup. (Paywall). A team that’s just four years old became just the fourth team from Manitoba to achieve the title of best junior A team in Canada.
