Note: The Moose went into Game 2 of their first round playoff series with the Admirals knowing it was a do-or-die contest in the best of three set. Despite going down 1-0 with a shorthanded goal in the middle frame, they responded quickly and then scored the game-winner with 42 seconds left to win the hockey game. One of the best hockey games I can remember covering so be sure to check out the game recap. There will be a Game 3 on Sunday to determine which team will advance to the second round. Today, they are scheduled to practice so stay tuned for the Practice Report.
Note II: We’ve got two hours of hockey talk coming your way on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show today at 9 AM CT as we look back at the media avails from Jets head coach Scott Arniel and GM Kevin Cheveldayoff. We will touch on the Moose win in front of a great crowd in downtown Winnipeg. And we will touch on the NHL playoffs. Joining the show to chat will be radio play-by-play voice of the Jets Paul Edmonds and ESPN’s Scott Burnside. Join us here.
Jets news:
Global News: The cost of the Winnipeg Jets not making the Stanley Cup playoffs. Fair but as folks can see reading these articles, a large number of prospects are getting playoff experience with the Moose. Look no further than Brayden Yager with his arms raised after picking up his first ever playoff point on what turned out to be the game-winning goal. While the AHL is not the NHL it’s still better than the alternative.
