The Jets left Winnipeg on Wednesday four points back of the final wild card spot held by the Predators although Nashville has played one extra game. San Jose lost in regulation to Edmonton which means they have the same number of games left as Jets but remain one point up.
Nashville 84 (4)
Los Angeles 83 (5)
San Jose 81 (5)
Winnipeg 80 (5)
St. Louis 78 (5)
It should be an interesting evening as obviously the Jets and Blues do battle which is where we will be focused but the Preds, Kings and Sharks will all be in action so this could be a very important night in the battle for the final wild card spot among the five teams vying for it.
But as the Jets would say they can only focus on what they can control and that is tonight’s meeting with the Blues in St. Louis which pits two of the hottest teams in the NHL since the Olympic break.
The Blues just played a very good home and home series with the league leading Avalanche which saw them win in Denver and lose in St. Louis. They are 6-2-2 in their last ten games and have a 18-13-7 record at home.
