Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers: Today’s Hockey Headlines | Apr 3, 2026

A daily roundup of Jets, Moose coverage — all the pro hockey news that matters in Manitoba and beyond.

Note: The Jets failed to gain ground in the playoff race after a disastrous 3-0 loss to the Stars last night in Dallas while teams around them were able to add points. As a result Winnipeg finds themselves three points back of the second wild card spot. They travel today to Columbus where they will conclude their four-game road trip.

Note II: It was an incredibly busy day in Moose land on Thursday as they had a full contingent on the ice including all three college free agent signees (media: Lukas GustafssonDavis Burnside and Lucas Wahlin). They kick off the homestand against the Griffins who come into the game as the top team in the west although they had hit a bit of a skid going 5-4-1 in their last ten although they run of late is 3-0-1-0. Puck drop is at 2 PM CT.

Note III: Good timing for Jets prospect Edison Engle (2025 6th) to score his first ever OHL playoff goal as he goes bardown. It turned out to be the game-winning and series clinching goal as Brantford sweeps Sudbury.
